For several years our Lanier High School Baseball program has been putting big efforts into fundraising. We have raised several thousand dollars and are in a good position to begin making facility upgrades. However, stopping here is simply not enough. We have fallen behind most schools in our area, in terms of providing coaches and players with the facilities to compete at a high level.

Having many scholarship baseball athletes each year come through Lanier Baseball, we have been able to produce a consistently strong program, despite efforts from competing schools to attract our coaches and players. (Buford, North Gwinnett, Mill Creek, Cherokee Bluff, etc..) These competitive programs have a dedicated indoor hitting/training facility, a player locker room, and many other equipment upgrades which help player development. Currently, Lanier must go off site to hit indoors and does not have a space large enough for all players to stretch and dress.  As parents of baseball athletes look ahead to their options for their child to play baseball in high school and potentially beyond, resources and facilities play a part in that decision. Competing at a high level is a full program commitment and the continued improvement in our facilities is a necessary step for enhancing player development and sustaining a baseball program parents and players want to be part of.

To really drive our fundraising efforts going forward, the Longhorn Dugout Club in cooperation with Coach May and his staff, is launching a Brick Fundraiser Capital Campaign. We will be selling laser engraved bricks which we will use to build column benches behind the visitor bleachers and a sponsor wall down the right field line. The fundraiser will kick off Winter of 24’ and is available to anyone who would like to participate.
